Hair loss is a problem plaguing millions of men. As men age, their chances of baldness increase. Hair loss usually happens slowly, which can make detection somewhat difficult. Usually, when men begin to wonder whether they are losing their hair, the process is well underway. At Renew Hair Solutions, we are experts in hair restoration for men in Metro Detroit. Because hair loss can be difficult to initially detect, we recommend that men who are wondering whether the balding process has begun to pay attention to the following signs of early hair loss.
1. Receding Hairline - Perhaps you are noticing that your forehead looks taller than usual. Many men who lose their hair notice a slowly receding hairline where their hair meets the forehead. If you are unsure whether your hairline is different now than when you were younger, take a look at old photographs of yourself and compare your current hairline to the older image.
2. Thinning Crown - Many men begin to lose their hair at the top of the head, at the crown. This is difficult to detect unless you view the area using two mirrors, or perhaps take a photograph of your scalp using your smart phone. If you can see your scalp, you are experiencing hair loss. If you detect thinning of the hair at the crown, but cannot see your scalp, you will likely have to say goodbye to the hair as it will be gone soon without intervention.
3. Hair on Desk - If you are a man with a desk job, it’s not unusual to see a stray hair or two on the desk from time to time, but if you notice several hairs at your workstation, you might be in the early stages of hair loss.
It’s important to note that some hair loss is expected. Most of us lose 50-100 hair follicles each day, but we do not notice thinning because new hair grows at a similar rate.
If you believe the hair loss process has begun for you, it’s time to contact the experts in hair restoration at Renew Hair Solutions.
